i travel a fair bit and the ....most memorable are:
1. a detour i made while on a europe trip where i stopped
over in copenhagen for 2 nites. it is a boutique hotel a stone
throw away from tivoli garden and i cannot remember what it's
called now. everything there is decidedly old school and 60's. from
the elevator, to the door knob and everything. very cool.
2. queen mary ship, which is now permanently docked in long
beach, california and converted into a hotel. it is actually not a
nice experience because everything is so claustaphobic, and the
broadband don't work properly. i stayed there for 3 nites.
3. manchester hilton in san diego. not so much for the hotel but
more on the day i was there. the us navy was commissioning the USS
reagan aircraft carrier there at the naval base in coronation
island. my room was on the 25flr in the hotel and i
have a bird's eye view of the whole proceedings.
4. youth hostel in thredbo, NSW last year. the day we arrived,
it started snowing. we booked an entire bunk to ourselves so there
is a lot of fun for the family as we can cook, hangout and do a bit
of community living there.
