JOHOR BAHRU, MALAYSIA - A GROUP of devotees in Johor Baru took part in a "sleep in a coffin" ritual in the hope of getting rid of bad luck, China Press reported.

The daily reported that the devotees believed that by following the ritual, their families would be blessed with prosperity and good fortune.

The ritual was common in the old days but temples in Malaysia rarely carry out such ceremonies now as coffins are still considered "not a very good thing" by the community, the daily reported. -- The Star

This is an Ancient Ritual of validity surviving till this modern times definitely the truth is there. I do not have the Actual Thai Name for this Ritual.

People in such line as Coffin Maker or Seller always carry a very "Yin" energy. They as maker or seller of coz will not find coffins inauspicious as they are dealing with it... with death all the time, its their profession. Just like an undertaker will not find dead bodies scary.

Its a very noble thought & action. Workable to a certain extent, you might not be able to take in all bad luck or karma but you can definitely reduce their impact or influence in the other party's live. But do you think its worth it? The other party might not even appreciate what you done.

there's no point in reducing the impact. I want to 100% take it all. because reducing or "as much as possible" kind of like, any results that is slightly better is considered done deal.

Well there is no way anyone can fully take 100% of another person bad Karma. As everyone carry with them their own Karma from past lives or this live be it good or bad. Just like a 500ml container, it can only contain so much, how can it contain 1000ml? I hope my analogy can give you a better understanding of what i am trying to tell you.

It doesn't mean you can't do anything about it but there is a limit on what you can do. Bad luck doesn't necessary is due to bad Karma , it might be due to people you are with, things you done or external influence.

I see. Any religion is fine as long as you have an open mind. Seriously, i don't think many people will do it unless they have the need or encounter something that cannot be solve using mundane ways.

interesting topic... i shall join in for the fun of it

hmm for me i dun think i will choose to do so unless there is really a need. Because i believe one has to be responsible for their own deeds. And if by doing so can reduce karma that one is suppose to undertake, then where is justice suppose to be? will be havoc isint it?

So my view is if we don't do harm or step on others, do what u think is morally right, why scared of karma coming to u?

well maybe its contradicting somehow... juz my view though
