bebe83 SG Canyone heard of it?? this is where i dip 1/2 pf the strawberry in chocolate & allow it to harden.. can i use chocolate syrup??? pls help me.
FireIce SG u mean chocolate fondue? or like the caramel apple stick? syrup too watery can try chocolate fudge instead....thicker and gooey and stick better!
choco B SG For chocolate covered fruit or nuts, use chocolate blocks, like regular chocolate. Chop into chunks, then melt them by double boiling. Dip the fruit in the melted chocolate, leave to harden.
bebe83 SG so syrup is out issit? mm.. can syrup been heated then use? mmmmm.. or u think that chocolate block is better? can i heat it in mircowave?
the Bear SG cooking chocolate... add stuff in it if you want.. but not advisable... adding other stuff may lower or increase the melting point.. you may add small amounts of liqueur for flavour.. shave or just plunk the chocolate in a container and place it over another container of hot water... the chocolate will melt... wait until it's a smooth texture.. dip whatever you like in it, remove... room temperature should harden the chocolate... yummy
choco B SG Chocolate syrup will never harden. You gotta get it in solid form like blocks, then melt it. I think can melt in microwave... just gotta be careful. Check on it every few seconds and stir it.
the Bear SG cooking chocolate... can buy that at the bake shops or at the supermarkets.. syrup remains a syrup so it's kinda pointless... for Hershey's you can get either a block of it or in chip form....
bebe83 SG Thanks Bear.... so jus buy that can le ? what the different between semi sweet & the other?
the Bear SG one has milk in it.. the other one is basically like your normal dark chocolate... it's bittersweet... just to test, buy a small bar of bittersweet dark choc and a bar of milk choc to see which one suits your taste... the dark choc is better if you want to add stuff like liqueur in as milk does not go that well with some stuff...
