Definition of Reiki
Rei-ki is the ancient art of hands-on healing. It is a simple
manual art with a philosophical understanding of the human
function; it is not a religion.
Dr Mikao Usui, scholar and mystic, rediscovered it in Japan a
century ago.
Brief overview on
Reiki
The knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things
and is connected directly to the quality of health has been part of
the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. The existence of
this "life force energy" has been verified by recent scientific
experiments, and medical doctors are considering the role it plays
in the functioning of the immune system and the healing
process.
Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that
allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force
energy" to improve health and enhance the quality of life.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is
not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student by
the Reiki Master. Its use is not dependent on ones intellectual

Reiki sounds a little of the Tantric system to me, where the
energy is transferred from teacher to student.I guess it is of
utmost importance to find the correct teacher then?
Another question, 
, won't the transferrance of energy get diluted
in the process? Or maybe even "distorted"... much like a rolling
moss ?
Btw, I've read that hands on healing should only be practised by
those who have the healing gifts otherwise they will tend to take
on the ills of the person they are healing. Any take on this?
