Actually, the problem is why christians must preach about
tithing 10%?
Many small churches here also ask members to give 10% of their
salaries. So why focus on CHC only?
Why do Singapore christians ask members to give 10%?
Giving in charities should always be non-compulsive. You shouldn't
be PREACHING into people's face to give "for the Gods".
Many christians from other countries don't even see the "10% rule"
as applicable today.
Many churches practice 10% CHC practices the 10% tithes as the
bare minimu.
They have additional:
1 Tithes. Fixed 10% payble by GIRO, cheque etc.
Put it in an envelope and write your name. Next week, your cell
group leader will give you a printed receipt for the amount given.
"The church believes in being accountable" vs "the church knows how
much you give" - you decide.
More accurately your cell group leader knows how much you
give.
2 Offerings. Additional "voluntary"
love gifts to the church at each attendance when the bag is passed
around.
1 and 2: other churches just ask you to put the tithe into the
bag.
3 Arise & Build fund. Additional
to build god a great house
Regarding 3, CHC has some suggestions:

4. Charity. Needless to say this is
Additional. In other churches tithes go
into a main account, some goes to charity and the church just uses
what it needs to operate.
