BIC , I read your link. It says rape is a sad fate and marrying
the victim is a better choice.
Quote:
So, back to the question at hand: DoesDeuteronomy
22:28-29 command a rape victim to marry her rapist? While
that is a possible, perhaps even likely, interpretation of the
passage, it is not the only possible interpretation. Even
if Deuteronomy
22:28-29 does command a rape victim to marry her rapist,
it is crucial to remember that such a fate, as difficult as it
would be, was, at least for some, much better than the
alternatives.

So terrible. Should include an addendum in the bible that all
rapists should be castrated, which I will support this law in any
society.
Well, wait till you get to be King or President then you change the
punishment lor. But please do not miss the point that this seizing
of the virgin is considered a punishable act. So if it is
interpreted as rape, the rapist is being punished. If it is not
interpreted as rape then the man is to take responsibility of the
woman for life. It is still a form of punishment, if not
restitution. You will not find a Biblical teaching that says rape
is good.
