Before we are quite to blame someone for what he/her said,
we must know from what context and what background he came from.
Pastor Mark is my Pastor (& mind you, I’m not trying to defend
what he had said over the Pulpit) and he used to have a Taoist
belief. What he shared (i feel) came from his own experiences and
what he felt about his previous religious acts and
ritual.
Please make no comparison among different religions cause let’s
see a Taoist priet of Buddhist-monk comment badly about Christians…
(i know they wouldn’t. All religions teach us to do good rite?)
See if we (CHRISTians) would even bat an eyelid.
For the rest of the mockers out there (now obviously
ANTI-CHRISTians), IF those of you who have NEVER said anything
wrong or done anything wrong before, please cast the first
stone.
(why be so quick to judge and condemn??? relax lah people…)

must realise they are constantly under the spotlight and as such,
must refrain from talking about other faiths they have little
knowledge of.”

cos’ he used to be a devoted and staunch Taoist…

As race and religion are extremely sensitive issues in our
country, I hope ISD will come down real hard on such religious
leaders. Such people should be taken to task and not just let off
with a stern warning. The fact that this particular sermon was even
made for sale to their members indicated that this religious
leader(pastor) has every intention to poke fun, ridicule, mock and
humuliate another religion/faith/beliefs. This is a very serious
matter and the culprit should be punished according to the law.

What have the taoist and buddhist in spore done wrong? Why they

his sermon keeps mocking the chinese’s belief where he thought is
educating. the congregation is even ignorant to laught at his
‘joke’. pastor, preach what you believe.

This only shows that they felt threatened and inferior thatz y
they are criticising other’s beliefs. If their religion, is so
mighty and holy as claimed, is there a need to put others
down??

This is Karma.
You talked nonsense abt other religions and you get investigated by
the authorities.
Please be mindful when you comment something.

I am a christian, a stonge christian.
But I am disgusted by the news that christian pastors critising
other religions and making a joke out of it. It is not that I
believe in other religion. But it is the fact that what has other
religion got to do with these pastors? Why are they so kaypo and
try to create joke about what other pray at.
I think it is high time that the authority to look into passing
a law. A law that convicts criminals like these pastors who critise
and make fun of other people’s religion.
Any person who is found to make fun of other religion in a
public place where more than 2 gathers, should be first put to jail
for one month and a criminal records be made against him. After the
month, he will be release from prision and shall await schedule for
his hearing. If upon hearing, he is found guilty, he shall be
jailed and fine further.
This should put a stop at errant religious people from being
trigger happy. Else they just criticise and then say sorry. What is
so sorry about sorry? They just paying lips services!
Slap them with a law and they will be good!

BULLSHIT leaders raise BULLSHIT followers. if u have been at the
rock while they come out of their sermons, just a bunch of rowdy n
rude congregation. saw 1 of them bump an elderly lady. when she
fell the whole group of them laughed instead of helping. is this
what their pastors teach them?

Christian kinda aggressive than any other religions? I really
don’t understand… Go church for the first time, they ask you wanna
accept christ or not? Where got so fast? Another thing is if you
never go to church they will keep pestering you asking why never
come? Please lah! Faith comes from the heart not from pulling
people and asking them to believe in God! They seems to be
interested in the number of followers they have…

last sunday, 2 preachers rang my door bell. I swung my door
fully open, revealing our 7 buddha altar hoping this will cut their
story short.
She started to preach, i stopped her politely and indicated that
im a thai buddhist. She still wanted to preach!! She only stopped
when i told her “Im a Buddhist” and closed the door!!
Why cant people respect others who already found their own
religion?? And here, a pastor (not even a layman) mocking other
religion? Do buddhist go around doing that?

Such an disgrace. Trust such “religious” leader to be preaching
and yet mocking at other religion.
Is it what we call freedom of speech without thinking of the
consequences? Terrible! How do u expect others to respect your
religion when u r mockign at others officially. Perhaps, the
religious leader jus need to ask god for forgiveness then all his
sins will be forgiven immediately. In this case, why bother to b
good when end of the day, jus ask for forgiveness. *puzzled*….

He behave like a real IDIOT! i dun understand y GOD permit such
a fool to assist him in passing the good faith to people by mocking
others.
while he mocked at other religions happily wif much insult in
his speech, he should be punished severly by law… cant b another
cae where the law makers just allow him to aologise and let by gone
be by gone.

For Heaven’s sake, please respect other religion.
As a well respected paster, do read up about Taoism instead of
mocking the Taoists.
Even though I am not a Taoist, I feel insulted by the way he
cracks jokes on Taoist beliefs.
The behaviour of this paster cannot be forgiven and he ought to
be punished for offending other religion.

We got a double standard in protecting the elite..
On September 16 2005, a 17 year old youth, Gan Huai Shi, was
charged with the Sedition Act for making racist remarks on his blog
site titled “The Second Holocaust”.
The 17-year-old San Yu Adventist School student faced seven charges
of sedition. He caused a furore when between April and July 2005 he
posted a series of offensive comments about Malays – even admitting
in one April 4 entry that he was ‘extremely racist’.
Over the next three months, Gan made more inflammatory remarks
mocking the Malay community and ridiculing their religion, which
were deemed by the court to promote ‘ill will and hostility’
between races, an offence under the Sedition Act.
Gan Huai Shi pleaded guilty to 2 counts of sedition and was
sentenced to 24 months supervised probation that includes
counseling sessions and community service in the Malay
community.
>> So should Mark Ng be sentenced to 24 months supervised
probation that includes counseling sessions and community service
in the Buddhists and Taoist community? Perhaps can make him sweep
the burned paper ashes on the lunar seventh month, it will help our
country save a bit too.

I wonder how would the Christians feel when a monk ask why some
people wll worship a man with a bend neck, half naked hanging on a
wooden cross…

will be just a good one to laugh about and then end of story.
If anyone has hear before what our famous Kumar said during her

Christians have always referred to the practice of praying before
images, dolls, figureines, etc etc as idolatory or paganism.
Whenever people go into a religious trance, it is referred to being
possessed by demons.
!
They have been doing it for many decades. Ng is just saying what
most Christians have been brought up to believe.

If you all have notice, its always the Pastors and church
members who started all this. 10 years back down the streets, mrt
stations, church members were seen disturbing people with questions
like ” Do you Believe in Jesus?”. The government intervene and put
a stop to it soon. Looks like its about time the government
intervene and teach them what is respect.
