How come he said like that?Did buddhism offended him?It is sadden to hear from a pastor.

While it's heartening that not all Singaporean Christians are like that pastor or his followers but while religious harmony is something that we instill to reduce the impact of religious conflicts it's sad that sometimes it's used to cover up actions of bigots like this pastor.

I always have been suspicious of churches today, the way they tries to modernize the religion or those Mega-Churches...sadly religions of today's world haven been constantly used for wrong-doings.

Going by this forum alone most xtians are on defensive mode or being apathetic, and its a defensive sort of apathy where they would say the approach is wrong, big bro is watching or they would just chide anyone flaming the pastor like wacky sung here

1) buddhism advise their followers how to change their fate and not submit to fate but that joseph said differently.

2) buddha did not say he was still searching for the way before he passed away but that rony said buddha said that.

how could he even be a pastor without having the basic respect for others?
He even said he only had brief knowledge on buddhism practice?
Yet he dare to criticise their religion.

I thought its common sense that u get the facts right before getting to a conclusion.

This incident actually put christianity in a very bad light.
How can a religion leader make such remarks about other religions.
He's a disgrace to the christian community in Singapore.

That's actually the practice and culture of most christian church in Singapore,

I think he has the right to say whatever he wants in his church, it is a private not public compound. Moreover the audience chose to sit there and listen out of their own freewill, if they don't like what they hear, they can always leave, nobody is forcing them to stay and listen isn't it? Also, i don't think he is inciting anything against buddhism, merely stating his views about the concepts of buddhism. Why doesn't anyone say anything when people mock the teachings of Christianity about eternal life in Jesus Christ but start a big hoo-haa when Christians raise doubts about other religion's teachings? Double standards or hypocritical? ^.-

at least they don't call christianity devilish like how chrsitians call other religions satanic? Moreover he's a pastor, a religious leader,what kind of impact do u think it has and have u ever come across another religion leader making this kind of speech. I thought sunday service is to focus on Gospel and own faith instead of criticizing others? Look at malaysia, the word "AllAH".....riots and burns.....if that happen in malaysia, more riots and more temples being burnt and who knows, fight among the groups.

Whether he did that in church or somewhere else he is still creating nuisance to other religions like inciting religious disharmony. such behaviour is not to be tolerated.

Rony should apologise to all buddhists and taoists in the whole world as well.
