so they have to made up story mah...lol

AndrewPKYap SG

hmm, money does make the world go round really.

christian or not. you need money to be influential, which can be a good thing right?

We are talking about people claiming that you can get rich miraculously if you believe in Jesus.... you think that is a good thing / a good idea to spread / an ethical way to get new church members?

kenn3th SG

what's this doing here?

well, is there cases where people get rich miraculously if they believe in Jesus?

if there isn't a case, then i don't see the point of arguing.

if there is cases, means God does bless people miraculously, then who am I to say that God did the wrong thing?

but based on my small understanding about God, i know God.. [ to be continued ]

It is a question of perception? If you claim that you are a Christian and you get rich because of Jesus, it does not follow that if you claim that you are a Christian and get raped, it is because of Jesus?

Amen!

How many miracles do you read in the bible? Under what circumstances did the miracles happen?

These people are asking people to expect a miracle everyday, 24/7 because of what?

Come to my church and you can expect a miracle!!!!

If you dont get a miracle, wait... your faith is not strong enough... everything except... we are preaching bullsh!t because that is what you want to hear...

antoh SG

often i regard Bible as a history book. It is written by many writers who thinks that God has spoken to them and inspire them to write the Word of God.

TIthing is a form of help to give back to God and also a compulsory means to contribute for Church's monthly expense.

I came to know of a church where size only 20 each month and for 4 to 5 yrs the size nvr grow. So what mirclace is it all about?

+Sikoyo+ SG

Perhaps. But believing in Jesus doesn't get one rich. Dun misunderstood. And people only believe wat they wanna believe...& hear only wat they wanna hear...dun they?

AndrewPKYap SG

Learnt from the cursed despot and cronies with regards to bonuses paid to Ho Jinx... the church made a stupid investment, spending ~$300 million in partnership with Temasek to build a church/shopping mall at One North last year (article in The Straits Times on 16 September 2008 titled “Church pumps in $220m more: New Creation Church’s total stake in lifestyle hub will be $500m”) just before the economic crisis becomes full-blown but pay himeself/themselves S$500,000.00 anyway inspite of the stupidity.

Joolead SG

used it back to the preacher and you see like funny face.since they believe in their ominpotent GOD.Pastor give $100 to me, expect $3000, $6000 or $10000 and if you give 1000, expect 30000, 60000 or 100000...GOD will bless you..

see what is their reactions...lol

recession ho..the bastard still can get bouns(may be the so call retention of getting more money fron you people's bouns)......power easily money by toking and arrow those pple to do his job.then everyday shake leg and drink kopi....

Joolead SG

Refer to Hebrews 13:5 in King James Bible.

use it on the bastart see what happen,lol..

hew 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,
"Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.

i agree wif u dat some "pastors" make use of the christian name to make money for themselves which is very wrong. but dun worry... "wat goes around comes around" theory never fails as far as i hav seen. cheat others & u will cheat urself in the end.

but dat doesn't mean good christians should get prosecuted becos of a few bad eggs. like there are good & bad people everywhere. it depends on the individual.

It appears that the discussion has shifted from "going church to become rich" to "going chruch to make the pastor rich". Since have shifted to this platform of being rich, how much 'so-called salary' do you think the senior pastor of a church is entitled to? We must bear in mind that in a protestan environment, the pastor also have a life or family life of his own and that he does need 'money' to maintain his family and lifestyle.

In my personal view, the senior pastor of a church holds great responsibility and should not be treated badly to the extend that he has to suffer in poverty or worry for his family well being that he is not able to concentrate in doing his role as a senior pastor for the church and serving God.

caleb_chiang SG

You mean the church actually say that?

If serving God whole heartedly is the pastor's agenda then he wud not bother if he is rich or poor. The poor can still can get by the poor's way. One doesn't have to be rich to serve God.

Maybe you haven met good christians yet. If u stick to ur beliefs then u r stereotyping. As i had mentioned, there r good & bad people in every community & religion. Can u tell me dat others(non-christians) don't pay lip-service as well?

Agree and no denying the fact that if one serves God, one should know that the Lord will provide. My post was more towards non-pastorial staff. That those of us who attend church services and simply just a member of the church - how much in your personal opinion/view should be the salary senior pastor in Singapore given today's standard of living?

Joolead SG

i have met alot of it.. and i am not stereotyping the fact is true and it is out there.

and i think most all are bullshitter...

1)How do you know that after dead you will end up in heaven?

(nobody know ?)

+Sikoyo+ SG

Actually im not exactly sure. but from wat i hav heard..some pastors/priests gets as low as a few hundred a month, less those NCC/CHC & a few other pastorial staff who earns big from their congregation's "compulsory 10% salaries" donations every month which is rubbish.
