The are no true religions today. They have all been corrupted by one sweeping statement: "all humans are depraved".

That might be true, but there is no way to prove it.

When we die, the conclusion is one of the following:

1. We won't know that there is no religion because there is no afterlife.
2. There is a god and we worshipped the wrong god - then we are screwed.
3. There is God and it's the right God.

The one truth is: we CANNOT COME BACK to warn those who are still living.

Laughing I didn't FORGET to lock this thread. At least this is a valid post.

I have said before. The mainstream Christian Churches believe humans are depraved. Not just depraved. But TOTALLY DEPRAVED.

there are two major philosophy regarding this...
1) all man are totally depraved (its part of our "gene")
2) at birth (meaning at the begining), man are born with a clean 'sheet of paper' ..........but got corrupted by the corruptions around them (can remain clean, if the environment around them is 'clean'; not corrupted).

In the context of the time/place/audience when he made this statement, I can't say he is wrong in his statement...
Note: His statement is in regarding to the colonial government in India back then (who are suposingly christians but oppressing the "commoners" and probably some even dishing out injustice and corruptions as well).. Sad

i agree with ghandi. but i'm not sure when was this said la.

i only know that once ghandi was interested in christianity, then they rejected him because he's an indian, and he swore never to become a christian again.

it's just a statement made by someone who happens to be famous. Not that the statement is untrue, at some point, at that time or now....

Case of bias and prejudice? Anyway, Christ is white man's god. Asians shouldn't just follow blindly! Try to imagine this: if christianity was NOT spread by crusaders, colonialists, missionaries and korean foolhardies, Asians and Afghans would not have heard of angmoh god!

Over-generalisation.

I became Christian without anyone convincing me to be one.

I was anti-Christian and one day became Christian cuz I suddenly understood the bible passages I quoted often to whack unarmed Christians.
