Wow, thanks for running an autocratic christian forum, Chin Eng. Seems like anything that resembles a debate gets closed down in a second. And you never seem to lose any debate, because you immediately close the topic upon replying. Maybe your definition of flaming is a little different? Maybe your definition of flaming is when a person has a different opinion? Much like a dictatorship, eh?

I can't speak for CE, I do not think I can. But let me say something about EH's threads.

If you have read EH's threads, discussion about evolution, creation according to the Bible has been discussed endlessly. Just do a search and you can find a lot of opinions on it. And there is no end to it.

If you are upset that you didn't have a chance to respond, please look at the timestamps. I don't think it was closed because of you or your remarks.

Since the thread is going out of topic AND additionally going back to questions on evolution and creation AND that SIS has come back to talk about his point of view (which we have read MANY times), it makes no sense to let the thread to become a broken recorder. I think CE did the right thing to close the thread.

Again, I think you may disagree with the way things are run here. But that's how it is. We are not here to win arguments.

Since the thread is going out of topic AND additionally going back to questions on evolution and creation AND that SIS has come back to talk about his point of view (which we have read MANY times), it makes no sense to let the thread to become a broken recorder.

If u look at tis religious forum and others, u will realise tat in here there is a surprisingly great amount of threads being locked for the slightest of reason. I do a rough count and approximately 20% of the threads r locked just because the moderator do not like them. For the other forums, the only reason why a thread is lock is simply because they r afraid it will span more than 99 pages and cause a problem to the forum. Some of the examples r buddhist (0 locked) light of atlantis (0 locked) deeper truth (0 locked).

I think it is sad to see tat the moderators have become the ultimate judges on deciding whether is a discussion is good to his eyes or not. If the thread is silly, it will die off itself and there is no need for locking. If the discussion ends up in flame war, it should only be locked when it actually happened. We should know tat power of moderator acts like censorship and can be abused. At wat stage then is it consider as being abused ?

About me and my points on evolution and ID, I think it should be noted tat I did not start these arguments in the first place. It is always some guys who start to give a total biased view of their stand. When I reply to it, they fantastically get chopped off abruptly. Why does the "moderation" always started after I reply and not when someone making a stupid stand, I don't know. U mean the same stupid misconception stand of some people here doesn't sound repeatative ? If u don't fell like reading, don't read. It doesn't means just because u do not like to read it then it has to be censored off.

Anyway I am busy and do not want to post heavily as before. However if there is some threads tat r misrepresented I have to write something to it. One issue which I am particular about is mis representation of science and logic.

3. I closed the other thread because it was going on a well-worn path of arguments and counter arguments which cannot be won by either parties.

4. I did not want EH to go nuke, like some of the other forums.

5. My policy is always agree to disagree. Go ahead and discussed anything but if something turns potentially inflammatory, make no mistake: I WILL CLOSE IT DOWN. My topics get closed down in other forums either... I accept that it's the prerogative for mods to do so.

6. If I am autocratic, I'd close down the Benny Hinn thread because I do not agree to his kind of theology, but it remains open.

7. I am not here to please you, regardless of whose clone you are. Not happy, get lost.

8. I am responsible for the peace of this forum. There are many other members here, and none of them had complained about my so-called autocratic style at all. I think my accountability to them is higher than my accountability to a clone.

9. I did not close do SIS all the time. SIS is famous for his confrontational stand on evolution and science, which he is entitled to. Any contributions that he make will inevitably go only one way, sometimes not necessarily his fault, but because the things he states and the way he says it can infuriate other readers.

10. If I am autocratic, so be it.

Fact is, lock threads are much less than the numbers given if you look at the other pages. Fact too, the many threads are locked because of personal attacks.
Fact too that in Deeper truth, there are locked threads, but note that in DT there is probably only ONE main TS, and he controls the entire trend of discussion, and those who knows better will not even want continue the discussion there.

But I don't think you are interested in facts, but more towards being unhappy with me...

Also fact too, I did not lock ALL the threads in EH, sillyme had a hand in there too.

You conclude what you conclude because of what you feel about EH, nothing more nothing less.

Silly threads do not die off... as a matter of fact silly threads flourish.
You need to be objective, if I want to censor, I can edit, which I only do so to add the URL functions, or I can delete the ENTIRE TOPIC, which I have only done on MY OWN thread.

But again, you write what you write because you've always been bias on EH.

SIS, as far as you are concern, the entire Christian doctrine is "misrepresented ".... you also need to note that you'd posted in other threads too, but they were not locked.

I don't see you go the other religious forums to talk about how they misrepresent.

I have my personal charter and had briefly discussed it with sillyme when I accepted my position. You or anyone else do not need to agree with it.

Why not close it down only when it had turn inflammatory ? The thread can very well turn to good and everyone is happy with the outcome. No one knows. Can u predict the future ?

I go to the other pages of their forums and fact is, EH has much more closed threads comapred with them. Wat is their percentage like ? 1 thread for 2 pages ? Wat about EH ? for the first 2 pages u can proably see about 20. I don't know why my statistical claim is not accurate here.

And I think the thread lock by sillyme on page 1 is strange since he do not consider the current progress of the thread and only at the beginning of the thread. Is the TS the only guy tat cares for the thread ? The other contributors r irrelevant ?

If it flourish, and do not slide into flaming war, then it has some merits of its own. Some chat threads like chill lounge r utterly silly and flourish IMO too. The point is different people view "silly thread" differently.

There r many people in tis world and they all have different stand. The idea of a forum is to explore these alternative differences. Is it because of my views and "misrepresentation" then I get to be locked more easily ? If u ask me, the reason why other threads r not lock because it had drifted in the direction u like it to drift. I think the few threads tat is not locked has something to do with charismatic churches.
