In itself, a 10,000 member cell group, is known historically by
another name - the church. Rationale: A cell is a small portion of
the larger entity, hence a cell consists of small number, many
cells form the Body of Christ.
Also in itself, such a claim is merely a play with words. Call the
church a cell group also can, but the reality is, the Cell Group
concept is not designed to run with anything more than 10 or 12
people. Beyond that number, it ceases to be effective. As a matter
of fact, cells are suppose
to split when it hits 12.
Therefore it is impossible to have a 10,000 member cell group. It
is, however, possible to have a 10,000 cell group church. Let's be
careful with the terminology.
So IMO, the claim that one has 10,000 member is at best an
egotistical claim and at worst an outright lie.
