People, one think we have to be clear before moving on in this thread is that. CHC does not advocate or in anyway involved in this incident or any incidents...

logic is beyond people who pray.

If the pastor isn't rich, how can his congregation go to heaven?

How? Laughing

the money all go to church, then keep thr for what? as if they are doing charity

CyNdI)4.eVa SG

does the church use the money to actually help the community? and when i mean help the community, i do not mean helping people stay out of the fairytale wonderland called hell. i mean financial aid and charity drives or something.

if u donate enough to a church, the people in church will probably tell u that u are on ur way to heaven.

sillyme SG

We cannot confirm the identity of the person asking for donation. Icemoon, anymore queries?

[email protected] SG

So it means only rich people who donate can go to heaven?

Icemoon SG

what queries? this topic is meant to be a discussion or sharing session.

sillyme SG

Ok. So we can't establish if the guy is really from CHC.

If you are unsure of how your money will be used, the safest way is not to donate. Later, you dun know whether your money will be used to organise church party or help poor people so just don’t donate.

Icemoon SG

It is amazing none of the CHC people come in and clarify. Issit a fund raising for the church or some charity.

an e-mail i received from my church.

Dear Friend,

In "Why is church seeking donations door to door?" (ST, Dec 20), a member of the public reported that he was approached at home for a donation by someone claiming to be from City Harvest Church.

We would like to categorically state that from the inception of CHC, we have NEVER solicited funds from the public and have NEVER authorized anyone to do so on our behalf. Members of the public should verify the identity of the person(s) seeking donations in the name of CHC, or any other charitable organization, as there could always be a few who may be taking advantage of the spirit of generosity during the Christmas season.

Please inform us at [email protected] or hotline 6737-6266 should anyone come to know of such activities.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

CHC Management Board 2006/7

That's the Singapore mentality.

it's worse if ur money is used by a terrorist cell hiding behind a religious organisation.

Even entering heaven requires a toll fee. Laughing

go to chc website.u'll see.personally i tink it is not impossible that something like that happen could have been one guy doing things wrongly.but the church has stated clearly in the email n on the website that they did not give any form of permission for anyone to do seek donations door to door.

my view on the matter

CyNdI)4.eVa SG

i went to an adult service b4. when i say adult, i dun mean anything porno. i mean a service for grown-ups. when they were passing the donation pouch around and i passed it on without donating. ppl were staring at me like i shouldn't be in that church. ccb.

[email protected] SG

How can they be like that? Stare at you. It is like saying ppl with no money should not go to church. Mad

CyNdI)4.eVa SG

i dun think religious organisations can organise door-to-door donation drives. imagine waking up a couple of atheists screwing each other in bed and trying to get them to donate to a religious cause.

charlize SG

I'm surprised you came out of there alive and unconverted. Laughing
