I want to compile a list of Great Makan in the Eastern part of Singapore (coz that is where I stay Wink ).

So, please respond with your favorite here but please only Eastern Singapore.

My definition of Eastern Singapore is:

Any place this side of Kallang River and as far North as Serangoon (but does not include it).

I think Changi Village has some great food...

carrot cake, quality hor fun and fried shrimps, stingrays and crayfish, fried kuay teow, renowned nasi lemak, cheap and huge drink servings...and overall at very inexpensive prices.

Looks like East Coast as a food haven is really a fantasy. I do not see any postings on Katong food.

No wonder whenever I go down to the Katong area, it is so hard to decide where to eat.

Got lah... esp the laksa.. but got to find the correct one.. there are about 5 other knock-offs

near the Kembangan MRT station, there is this corner of Frankel Avenue.. Daud's... pretty good Kambing Soup Smile

Food lover....... try Joo Seng Road Hawker center for Traditional Teochew noodles.

opens after 12 Mid nite.

prepare to wait 45 mins during weekends.

good You Tiao and Butterfly Kway. Tao Huay is good.

Katong Lasksa, Beach Road Big Prawn Mee(which is at aljunied area), Purvis Street Beef noodles (opp Bras Basah)

Duman hawker for wanton noodle, rojak, and the basement for hee chong fun and soon kueh.

haig road market for laksa run by a old couple. rosie roti john kicks ass better then the soggys ones you used to get from botanic garden. the first muslin indian stall first row has really good ikan billis nasi goreng.

kallang hawker got decent hokkien char prawn mee right in the heart of the centre. fat man satay also not too bad there.

parkway basement used to have very generous mee siam and mee rebus. and they are great. but now under renovations hopefully they will return in august.

Still Rd the pepper crab coffee shop!!! Always has a queue in the evenings.. yar a queue... like club like that.

Minimum order is 2 crabs, and cannot 1 pepper 1 chilli, must be 2 pepper or 2 chilli or 2 of each.

I've tried the pepper crabs and it is indeed very very peppery!

got katong laksa, dumplings, chicken rice, baos, lots... must go there to eat for yourself... but up to evenings only..

marine parade food centre (opp parkway parade) got special wet chay kway tiao

old airport road got one quite big food centre too, 'lao fu zi' stall selling char kway tiao always got long queue

prata shops along geylang and at simpang bedok

Loti Prata= Jln Kayu have few,near serangoon studium there have 2
JianDaoJian curry rice =geylang there have,jln basar,upper serangoon rd around/near the interchange

Geylang=There got a lot of food stall,Etc,frog leg porridge,You Tiao Duo Jiang and other more.

Old tamp rd(opp Hougang super bowl) - nasi lemak
bedok 85 alot of food.
simpang bedok - pratas
changi village - nasi lemak and western food
katong - five star hai nan ji fan, got prawn mee near a petrol station too .. . .
