I can even use a parable to illustrate.
The son never return home. The father thought he has left for good
so he disowned him.
But what was the son doing outside? He was doing what his father
has taught him since young - act justly, love mercy and walk humbly
with God.
The father has disowned the son, but the son still acknowledges him
as the father.
