How have Da Vinci code movie affected ur faith?

Da vinci code has never affected my faith. Neither do I really think there was a real attempt by the author to bring down the Christian faith. He's in it for...

laoda99 SG

For me, it has not bring down my faith in Christ. In fact, it has let me see how pple go to great lengths to bring down the Christian faith, but failed miserably as their "truth" failed to answer a lot of questions: If Christ is a mere prophet and he died just like tat, is there a need for Mary Magdelene to continue his church?

The most incredible part, Mary Magdelene travelled to France on a boat.

dats y its a fiction.

hisoka SG

dan brown never claimed his book to be the truth or that christianity was all a lie. its actually the clergy who decided to make a big issue of it resulting in such a big hooha and more pple reading and having their already shaky faith shaken.

laoda99 SG

Hmm....if in the movie "the truth" is perceived to be preserved by mary magdalene's cult.....then the "liars" are obviously the catholic church....and Dan Brown said it is a historical fiction....all facts and rituals are deemed to be correct....but in fact it is not......

hisoka SG

some how fiction and all correct doesn't seem to fit in well together.

LazerLordz SG

It's just a damned thriller.. Rolling Eyes

But the Hebrew and Aramaic interpretations of companion is something we have to delve in further.

Gnostic scrolls.. they cannot be dismissed too, but a concrete conclusion is not reached yet.

If there's one thing everyone can learn, it's that everything which Man touches, can be twisted.

laoda99 SG

gnostic scrolls....if gospel of mary magdalene is right....then mary magdalene is the special one....however, if gospel of judas is right, then judas is the chosen one....so which one is which? Obviously, even gnostics they are divided into camps......

Ironside SG

no it has not. though i have not watched it.

where would i go for eternal life? if i depart from Christ. i know it is just based on gnostic writings. cultic groups during Church Fathers times.

i won't be surprised if they would unearth Manichean writings. Another cult during those times mixing the 'best' of the teachings of all religions including Christianity.

Irenaeus a disciple of Polycarp [a disciple of John the apostle] wrote a book almost 1900 years ago called "Against the Heresies" in it he mentioned the Gospel of Judas by name and called it a heretical book. Writings of gnostics.

Perverted Christianity came into the scene when the apostles [espicially Paul] woould be gone Paul predicts:

Ac 20:29 "For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 "Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

LazerLordz SG

that's why it is still open to ambiguity.

Know the Lord in your heart, and be content.I guess that's the very basic thing we have to do.

laoda99 SG

yup...this is why i dun believe in the gnostics "gospels"....

Ironside SG

sorry folks

in my haste i stated i have watched it. i have forgone the word 'NOT'

"
i have not watched it."

that's what i meant.

LazerLordz SG

I think, we still cannot dismiss them too easily. After all, what Man has chronicled.. may not be the divine truth.

Up to each individual I guess, I'm more of the liberal sort, so yeah..there you go.

Smile

Cheers and have a good night.

“Thanks” to Dan Brown. I have become a better Christian. I have learnt to know more about God.

My faith is affected:

My faith in Ron Howard as a good director is shaken.

My faith that Tom Hanks is a Oscar winner is lost.

*sob*sob*.....

coffeeortea SG

i have not been affected, i am not a christian, and i have not been affected to disbelieve in christianity more.

my disbelief are derived from other factors.

the Bear SG

actually, Dan Brown claimed that a lot of it was based on fact... however, all his "facts" have been proven to be hogwash...

worse, his book is based on another book... the authors sued him but somehow, he got away with it...

as for faith, faith in what?

my religious faith is unshakened.. however, my faith in the intelligence of people has been shakened...

Icemoon SG

don't get what you trying to say.

Yah lah .. not boat then what? Air France? Laughing

dragg SG

those whom have faith wouldnt have asked for a ban.

Chin Eng SG

walk across?

He actually did claims the stuff he used in his book as REAL, as written in his book (go look for one of the front few pages under subject title "FACTS")

What he claim to be fictions are the characters and their conversations in the book.

very different (very clever as well).
