Jesus's understanding of God, I believe, is different from many Christian's understanding of God.

matrix. if the taste of chicken is programmed into your mind, how can you be so sure that what you are eating is really chicken?

An Eternal Now SG

When you no longer need to ask that and it becomes crystal clear to you.

When dualism falls apart and your old identity is completely shattered.

When you can completely comprehend - not conceptually (which is impossible) but directly - that God is all pervading and you are part of it. There is no longer an individual self and everywhere is the Kingdom of God.

so if u give me $100/- now, it is all in your mind and u haven give me $100/-?

Can u give me $100/- now? Mr. Green

Ito_^ SG

somehow the non-existent of dualism is same as the existence of dualism to me.. becuz u dun agree with me that one may not be able to seperate dream and enlightenment, isn't that itself "dualism"?

An Eternal Now SG

That mind that is asking all these - that is dualism.

When you surrender to God, you just surrender.

Ito_^ SG

that quote i kope from OldMan's reply from buddhist forum de.. Laughing that is his understanding of the christian god.

to you he is the endpoint of all enlightenment, while he believes god is like brumah, self-delusional deity.

Ito_^ SG

but to be enlightened like buddha, shouldn't u ask question about everything? including existence and world, salvation, etc..?

An Eternal Now SG

If I'm not wrong, the verse

Jesus said, "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you.

which is found in Gospel of Thomas is also found in another Gospel that is canonized.

laoda99 SG

yeah...i tot buddhists should have inquisitive minds as seen in some threads in Buddhism Bliss?

Ito_^ SG

ya dats why i respest buddhism.. to question, to understand and to show compassion over self-interest.

An Eternal Now SG

Enlightenment does not come through ceaseless questioning, but sometimes questioning will be useful to break one from dogmas.

Ito_^ SG

ceaseless questioning, if as what you wld say the ultimate truth, den it will come round to that. its just a matter of time, and time is an illusion. like buddha did under the bodhi tree, im sure he ain't there to suntan. and like how brahma was convinced, its just a matter of time.

laoda99 SG

so when should one start questioning and stop questioning so as to reach enlightenment? Mr. Green

Ito_^ SG

i think if it needs to take an eternity, ain't it just as worth it? Laughing

An Eternal Now SG

I really dont understand what you mean Laughing

Buddha practised Mindfulness of Breathing meditation under the bodhi tree. He did not ceaselessly ask questions to himself.

An Eternal Now SG

Only when necessary should one question - not like everyday and every night.
