vince69 SG I used to have a copy, bought $10 maybe less at a 2nd hand bookshop when I was in Sydney 10yrs back, threw it away when I returned, cause by then, its quite torn up and my book shelf no space.
vince69 SG no need angry one lah, last time, I like to go to the 2nd book shop in the campus, can find a lot of funny things one and very much cheaper also, cause 2nd hand mah.
NT2 SG haha.... anyway...is there a proper way of disposing bible? singapore flag also got proper way to dispose...wat abt bible?
despondent SG juz wanna share sth, BPs believe KJV is the most accurate english version cos it is the 1st english translation...it was translated n officially documented by the Synod in the 1600s. the translators translated the original greek-hebrew bible into the KJV...then all other versions followed...so we have other versions being translated from the original KJV...tats y they feel such versions r less accurate... btw, mormons also believe KJV to be most accurate...their belief is worse, they believe onli KJV is accurate enuff...
Icemoon SG Many other versions are translated from more accurate texts like the Masoretic Texts and they're cross checked with the Septuagint or even the Dead Sea Scrolls.
M©+square SG i know that they reject other versions as the authenticated bible. Therefore they are called BP.
Icemoon SG if vince's torn bible looks like the Gospel of Judas (in that pretty bad shape), people might think they're holding a codex.
despondent SG BPs came out from the presbyterians…reason being presbyterians were starting to join other denominations in believing in the pentecoste movement…so the word ‘bible’ was added to symbolise their focus on the bible alone…so naturally they will be strict abt the most accurate version to use…
vince69 SG personally, I find the KJV is quite tough for young christian (especially for those that are non-english speaking background) to read, for readability, I find NIV, NLT better, with NASB, NKJV in the middle.
Icemoon SG no .. it is not. They just happen to have the "complete bible". I even saw my Catholic friend using NRSV bible even though it is not the official Catholic version.
