I also know next to nothing about the Torah except its to the Jews as the Bible is to us.
Make it this way, If I have never seen a copy of the Torah nor read it before, how can I claim that I understand the Torah? so to claim that not to understand the Torah equates not understanding the Bible is not really a fair statement.

Vince, if you see in my other post that the torah is considered to be the word of God from Genesis to Revelation, then you will understand my statement. So if you do not understand the Torah, you do not understand you bible. Fair comment?

ok, if its Genesis to Revelation, then its the Bible to me...
cause to me, the general usage for Torah is the holy book for judaism.

In this case, I would request a definition (or link to the definition) of terms used, in order to avoid missunderstanding.

The comment is totally unfair. I have also not seen nor read the Torah, but as fair as the dictionary defines it:

If the Torah is only the first five books of the Bible then anything after Deuteronomy has nothing to do with the Bible. So I think you are extremely judgemental in making such a statement. Not just that you definition of the Torah way beyond what is commonly understood as the Torah.

So the big question is NOT whether we understand the Torah or not, but whether YOU understand the Torah or not.

Hi guys, its is always been a hot debate point with regards to this issue. However, i believe that this is getting nowhere and can we like put this behind us and move on.
