Strictly speaking, pentecostalism is not a denomination. It is a
movement based on a conviction.
Personally speaking, i adhere to the Plymouth Brethren's
convictions of non-denominationalism. First century Christianity
never had denominations. We are all Brethren gathered around one
head, Christ.
We may have minor differences on non-essential points but we
are
one body, with one Spirit, one hope, one Lord, one faith, one
baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through
all, and in us all.
Many churches influenced by denominationalism followed suit. Some
drop the name Baptist in their churches so as not to cause division
among Christians.
Many Christian churches now are non-denominational. If you have
repented of your sins and trusted in Christ alone for salvation, we
are Brethren.
Ask many a Christian now about which denomination they belong they
would say: "i am non- denominational." And I am too.
thanks.
