I've observed that phrase have been mentioned quite a number of times.
Is there any significance in that term Protestant by Birth which you have to add in most of your post?

errr....tough question there, it doesnt make a bit significance irregardless of denomination that i come from. However, most of the catholics that i talk to would usually ask me like

them: "Hi are u a Christian?"

me: "Yes"

them: "so you're a catholic?"

me: "No, am so & so denomination"

them: "so you're Protestant?"

me: "yeah! watever, i do not deny that we did protest"

so i just left it as it is & pple ask me i just say i'm Protestant. short & simple.

Babyys, sorry to hear that, hope that you future experience with Catholics will be more pleasant.

I'm a Catholic, have been for many years and have experience many negative response from non catholic. The worst of it comes from ignorant christians of course. They tend to get overzealous and start their whole "worshippers of Mary" thing with me.

Glad to hear that many christian denominations have greater understanding of Catholism now (or maybe my friends became more matured).

Anyway, just in case elements like huaqing still haven't gotten the message, Catholics ARE really christians...

I met a few ppl who din really know what denomination they come from...

"half methodist, 1 quarter presbertarian, 1 quarter charismatic..."

my response, "I'm 99% Catholic and 1% miscellanous... although I claim to be rather suave and charismatic too..." Wink

I admit, i was anti-catholic before cause of the bad experiences i had, but hey just because of 1 or 2 individuals doesnt mean the whole lot is bad right? Then my dad had to give me a pep talk on being tolerant of other religions & beliefs, of course dat talk was a wake up call to me.

Forgive & forget, clear mis-conceptions then everything will be on the right track.

to quote the late pope John Paul:

Let Buddhist be better Buddhist and
Let Muslims be better Muslims"
