Unfortunately, Ahmad is a not a pure Malay name. It is an Arab
name, most probably a derivative of Muhammad.
Sadly to say also, pure Malay names are almost non-existent today.
However, in the olden days, the Malays used common conversational
and descriptional words as names. Some examples are; Buang (throw),
Kechot (shrink), Dara (virgin) and even days like Isnin (Monday),
Khamis (Thursday) etc.
"Bin" is the Malay derivative of the Arabic word "Ibni" which means
"son of".
