What is puzzling me is this - do you believe in your 'Jewish outlook' or do you believe in the protestant faith? If you've choose to see it in your Jewish...

Hello all, Listen to Hope 107 FM now. Pastor will be talking about Enoch! Pls tune in NOW!

Icemoon SG

so what did he say about Enoch?

John The Baptist SG

He was translated & didnt see death. For he was not.

Chin Eng SG

I am not aware that you are into the apocryphal books, not to mention that the translated Enoch and his city is part of Church of Latter Saints theology, which I am sure you know, is another name for Mormons, a recognised cult.

Icemoon SG

Some Christian theologians disagree with you. It is clear that all men are sinners and the penalty for sin is death.

How come Enoch so special?

John The Baptist SG

Sorry can you pls read Genesis?

Chin Eng SG

- deleted – never mind.

Icemoon SG

so what did the pastor say about enoch?

Chin Eng SG

My thoughts exactly...

This is a lame thread by the time the first post started.

Reason? To be relevant, all must listen to the sermon, but obviously no one is able to listen to the sermon. The thread starter is unable to either, explain WHY we need to listen to the sermon, or give a summary of the sermon, there is really no point, as usual.

I'd say mods, please close it.

Talking abt Mormons, i was approached twice i think, but they are nice people anyhow.

John The Baptist SG

According to genesis, he walked very closely to God. Maybe first instance of grace given bcos of his faithfulness.

Icemoon SG

my partial jewish outlook allows this belief .. but Christians cannot believe this since all men must suffer physical death .. even Moses.

M©+square SG

Hmm? Why such a assumption?

Icemoon SG

Even Mother Mary was not accorded any priviledge, according to Protestant beliefs. Why would Enoch be special?

Pls lor .. Enoch also descendant of Adam .. and it is written, "through Adam, all men have sinned".

M©+square SG

Mary? Rolling Eyes
Anyway, i'm interested to hear your views on the two verses below.

1 - Genesis 5:24

Ampilifed Version
Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked [in habitual fellowship] with God; and he was not, for God took him [home with Him]. [Heb. 11:5.]

2 - Hebrew 11:5

Ampilifed Version
Hebrews 11:5 Because of faith Enoch was caught up and transferred to heaven, so that he did not have a glimpse of death; and he was not found, because God had translated him. For even before he was taken to heaven, he received testimony [still on record] that he had pleased and been satisfactory to God. [Gen. 5:21-24.]

Icemoon SG

My Jewish outlook allows me to believe he escaped death.

Elijah? also.

M©+square SG

Ok no dispute.

So why the assumption? Under what claims?

Icemoon SG

Under the claims all men have sinned since Adam and all must go through physical death.

John The Baptist SG

All have sinned & fallen short of the glory of God? The penalty of sin is death?
