Christian perspective in Earthquake in Pakistan/India

shade343 SG

im waiting for his reply to one of my question to see if I can safely conclude if he is a........... _ _ _ _ _ _ _

ben1xy SG

yup. i have no problems with ur current statements statements. i dun agree with your analysis on the Rwanda incident (which isn't important coz this ain't a politics forum). but what i want to bring out is that, sometimes when people try to spiritualise catastrophies, it doesn't do justice to the victim nor their grieving families.

but now that i understand ur perspective, i am ok with it

cheers

i was juz gonna ask the same thing

here's a funny thing.

the extemists in the USA were saying Hurrican Katrina was like the punishment for the sinners in New Orleans, y'know the gays and all.

here's the twist.

When the hurricane hit. All the places were affected, except the 'sinful' areas.

This got to be the first. Perhaps i didnt read the reports hard enuff. Which part?

Similarly, the disasters in Pakistan affect everyone, good or evil. I guess JTB didnt clearly see schools collapsing and babies taken out of rubbles.

They were probably potential gays and lesbians.... Laughing

laurence82 SG

Gee, i would love to see your family get into disasters, and someone said its because they were closet gay and lesbian.

shade343 SG

Somehow...that sounds funny..... Laughing

I don't know man... I guess the people who believe natural disasters r caused by god must really believe he likes to kill people based on his god's standard. If u look at history, mankind faced wose earthquake before (1556 shanxi). faced worse diesease (black death) and in terms of conflicts the casualties of conflicts now pale in comparison with WW1 or WW2. And all of them means really nothing and judgement day appears to be as near as any other time in history. Rolling Eyes

There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. (Luke 21:11)

Maybe Singapore don't have ba. Hopefully, it will never happen here, except to feel some tremors.....

M©+square SG

why do you hope that it didn't happen here?

Cheers

laurence82 SG

Yes, but attributing disasters to sinfulness of people. where these people got nuthing to do with, for example, persecution of christians? sheesh

All these threads abt katrina, earthquake and tsunami can be summed up in four words - xin zai le huo...

happyharvest SG

I have to agree with you that attributing disasters to sinfulness of people can be seen by others as xin zai le huo. There are many types of christians. Some are over-zealous and want to related every world events to bible prophecies. Sometimes it could be true but still don't focus too much on attributing the disasters lo. It is all just speculations...

There are also other type of christians who will pray for them and mourn with the victims. They are the spiritually more mature one.

Hey wait.. Pakistan is a Muslim country.. and similar to Christianity, there is a provision of the so-called "sodomy law"..

Even if you think it's funny, please at least do some research.. Baseless and insensitive claims such as is exactly why most neutral parties are not too fond of the Christians..

John The Baptist SG

There might just be a tsunami even bigger than the indo one in S'pore. Just a prediction only by expert in the newspapers ST. It might happen bcos data seems to show quakes moving north. Ok dont get into the sin fight again. I admit whether sinful or not, it might just hit so be prepared whether Christian or not. I didnt say definitely & pls read the latest papers. It wasnt i who "prophesied" or brought it up. Its the expert! Pls pray for S'pore. God bless u.

happyharvest SG

I know about it le.........
