Good Morning Brother.
Thank you for toning down your posts. I am glad you are able to
share with in this forum, some of your problems.
Allow me to comment on your post:
Your statement: "I dont preach to ppl. I share the gospel" - You
know, non-believers do not make this distinction. As far as they
are concern preaching and sharing the gospel is the same thing. In
this morning's Strait's Times Insight, S8, there is an interesting
article on how some Christians are seen to be "forcing" the gospel
down the throats of unbelievers. I do believe that this Christians
mean well and think that they are fulfilling the great commission
as commanded by our Lord, and many of these will continue to do so
even when threatened with being sacked. I do think that such
fervency is misplaced as there is a right way and there is a
wrong.
My advice to you is: if people refuse to listen, don't bother.
Didn't Christ command the apostles to "shake the dust of the
sandals" if the towns refuse to listen to them. No need to be
disheartened.
On the issue of the suffering you've gone through in your family,
let me say that while it is true that various people have varying
degree of suffering, most important it is how we handle them that
matters. I am generally a happy person, because I've decided to be
happy. Don't I have problems??? Of course I do. While I am not
prepared to share them here, let me say, at least, I have a medical
condition that if I don't take care, I will die. Or that I am
always in need of money and have very very little savings.
I am also the first in my family to be converted. Many family
members followed this path (definitely not because of me but by the
grace of God), my own parents remained unsaved. It is very likely
that my situation pales when compared to yours, but we are not
trying to outdoor each other in terms of suffering, are we? Just
that we all suffer, and I repeat, it is how we make it that
matters.
You have since apologised for the various recent postings so let's
move on. Again, I repeat I am not trying to gun you down. Other
forumites have posted links that are extremely helpful
(happyharvest comes to mind here, some good links from him sometime
back). My issue is: I am totally against Christians who do not
check the facts when they say something. Non-Christians are not
stupid folks, and if the credibility of our faith is undermined,
we'd look extremely foolish.
I'd be happy to chat with you privately, just PM me....
Good cheers....
