Catholics hardly evangelise or preach

Being a Catholic, i find this so.But its a good thing for once because we give people a freedom of right to choose their religon rather than some overzealous groups(I will not name names)

we are supposed to evangelise actually. but evangelisation can take many forms (think Mother Theresa). In any case, this should not be an excuse for lukewarm Catholics to be lazy.

This is one of the major conflict of practise.
It depends on what the emphasis of scripture it's relying on.

We are not expected to spew bible verses or hand out tracts, but I think more importantly we should live out our Catholic values.. Show others the joy of being Catholic.

speaking of which hor.. i wanted to ask u. in Aussie we dun have altar boys.. but instead acolytes. (s'pore got or not ah?)

Acolytes supervise the altar servers. Both boys and girls are allowed to become altarr servers.

The term acolyte refers to those who assist at the Mass.

Nowadays they have altar girls (as in Australia), but I'm not sure if this is really a wise thing to do. The purpose of having altar servers, is to encourage future priests.

The point is, females are not to be admitted to the priesthood.

Take note, nuns are not ordained clergy. They are consecrated religious.

From these above replies, you can see why i do support the Catholic faith in terms of evangelism and practices. Some groups (i shall not name also) love to attack the Catholics, their past history and the papal system, but among the christian lot, i see the catholics as the least hyporcritical, practise their faith diligently and without conflicts with members of other faiths.

Its safe to say, John Paul is a byword for peace and and Mother Teresa is synonymous with love for mankind.
