ben1xy SG

Honeybunz SG

Honeybunz SG

Why don't you enlighten us by sharing how much you know about it?

Gtg. Later.

Now now, go easy on Fandango..

The sin of presumption is to think that you can go to heaven without any effort on your own part. Also, if we lead a sinful life in the expectation that we can repent at the end of our life and thus gain salvation, we are guilty of the sin of presumption!

Let us avoid this.

This relate a lot to the topic on two groups of christians, where one of the issues was on murderer-victim.

ben1xy SG

hmm ... my defination wasnt too off then lol

fandango SG

Hmm...that doesn't sounds like what the Vatican II says.

Rome called assurance of salvation "a Sin of Presumption". It says that even if you are a devout Catholic, you cannot assume that you will go to heaven when you die.

ben1xy SG

actually .. the church position is not as definate on this issue.
but on Purgatory.. yes we will experience it.

thats why we will pray for the souls in purgatory during mass

JWorld SG

Can we go to heaven without any effort on our own part?
