rainee SG He is coping rather well actually. Of course from time to time he will tell me what has happened to him after he got back from these group meetings. He does not intend to leave Christianity and I have been assuring him that I am receptive towards the idea of becoming a Christian later in life, but it would have to be for a good reason. Not just because I feel forced to by our r/s. He would not allow me to go to his current group though, he said he doesn't want my mind to be polluted :p
M©+square SG You're from CH also? Funny, how come i'm considered conservative believer but i don't agree with the leader? Now we got two kinds of Christianity, conservative and modern(liberal you mean?) in the same church....consistency please. I personally believe CH is a liberal church.
rainee SG I asked him to go new church le...I guess he enjoys going to that church and he has been going there for a long time, so there is this sense of familiarity..not easy to change environment so fast de...
rainee SG I understand, but my bf has already told him that he knows how to think for himself, he said that he knows what's good for him...and the leader can even ask him to explain how good I am? And then said how does he know me so well until he knows I can be so good to him?
M©+square SG You should go to the group and listen. Either he'll take the opportunity and question the relationship or he'll keep quiet already. Either way, you should take a stand on your r/s. But if you're weakminded. Yeah, your bf is right. It would affect your mindset and self esteem. Ultimately your receptivity onto christianity. That church(other churches also) are really good at injecting interesting beliefs onto their members.
rainee SG Thing is, those people won't leave him alone, even messaged him to ask him to leave me? My friends are not very keen about me being with him, but at least they did not "harass" me to leave him leh...
M©+square SG Hmm? very extreme kind of handling the matter. Very Unchristian. Do you mind if you PM me you bf's cell leader's name? I'll bring this matter up to their supervisior.
a_splash SG Originally posted by a_splash: kuai soon, ah ma also don't like....if ah ma is with my younger time emotion...ah ma will have many many things to tok when i hear such things.....(ah ma even ask ppl to ask their god to come down now rite infront of me to prove me wrong le) but the emotion and thots now all meadow down liao...... just ask your boi boi to change church lor, if its getting too much....so many churches in Singapore le..... paisay, ah ma's spiolling not good...mellow go into hiding liao
M©+square SG It'll help if your bf could give info. christians from that church ain't very forgiving either. so beware.
rainee SG I don't want to create more trouble for him, you see? What if later he knows I have been complaining here and if action is taken towards him, sure he will think of a way to have revenge leh... Man, I thought Christianity is all about forgiveness and love
rainee SG I listened to their live services cos I am not in Singapore currently(that is why I cant attend the church with him, otherwise I would have gone and give that leader a piece of my mind). Some of the services are quite intersting to listen to, but I am more concerned about the politics going on behind the scene...
M©+square SG But i feel that it is proper for this particular leader to have his problem solved - obviously he is the problem child, not your bf. In order not to allow anymore of these jokers from surfacing and destroying the young believer's faith. They got to be reported, to be put down and re-learn how to be a leader. Learn humilty and servanthood, grace and love, passion and leadership. Seems like this leader has gotten it all wrong! Got problems? Go to the root of it and deal with it. That's CHC. So sad.
shade343 SG Hmm...The thing is, you mentioned that your bf has given you the assurance that he is handling the situation quite well. So my suggestion to you would be to place your trust in him. But if one day, you do notice that your r/s with him is going downhill because of this matter, then it would be time to speak some senses into him. After all, you love him not becos of his religion.
rainee SG I will discuss it with him, but are you an official or have a high ranking position in the church? If you complain, they will listen?
rainee SG Of course I trust him...I just dun like him facing pressure everytime he has to go to church...it is supposed to be a place where he can find peace and calm, not a place where he has to go to listen to people arguing about his r/s. And I am worried, what if other couples are facing this as well? Differences in religion are already tough on the individuals involved, no need other parties to come in and make it more complicated...
M©+square SG : LOOks around: Psst...Cannot ask like that one. I'm not from that church, but i know friends there and they are supervisors. Very understanding and very orthordox people. I complain the church won't listen. But the problem will be solved because it doesn't reflect the belief in the bible and christianity itself. Such unbecoming attitudes are a pain in church. If can PM me which Cell group can already, or which district/zone. Cheers!
rainee SG Hmm, I would have to ask for his permission first...if he says no, then I cannot reveal also...hope you understand
