and if saying that by being a protestant, you will be safe is not blatant bullshit than what is it?a fact?

Icemoon SG

I am always intrigued by the question. Why RC say cannot be judgmental but their forefathers still judge xtians like the Nestorians, Marconites and what have you to be heretics?

Why never respect their rights and freedom? Twisted Evil

Icemoon SG

I dun get your question. What is your context?

chronicles SG

They judge but i dont judge and i am relating me experience so whatever past things you bring in are irrelevant.

I am not trying to be insulting or whatever but there are really many preachers who are protestants and irritating

chronicles SG

A Roman Catholic has to do with it because they keep saying Dont worship mary she is not a god, they keep having that misconception and try to use it against me whilst preaching to me.We dont worship her we just pray to her for christ sake.

Icemoon SG

Irrelevant? Hello .. your faith views human institution in very high regard, even on par with Scripture, sorry I mean God trusted your forefathers to pass down the oral tradition.

How can you say their actions were irrelevant?

Icemoon SG

Aiya .. forgive them lah .. until you sit down with them and discuss what is considered worship, I think it is pointless to be angry over this.

alexkusu SG

wats the difference between anglicans, protestants, roman catholics, methodist and mormons? are the differences really that significant to divide them into groups? i know jews called theirs saviour Yahweh but in catholic church songs, they have verses refering to God using the word Yahweh as well.

Icemoon SG

You might as well ask wat's the difference between Catholics and Nestorians. Why were the latter considered as heretics by the former? Read what happened in history. The seeds of division were already sown then.

Jews dun call their saviour Yahweh or Jehovah. The tetragammatron (sp?) is sacred and the full name of God cannot be pronounced anyhow.

alexkusu SG

Nestorians? Do they exist? I heard sumwhere there is a collection of manuscripts called Deutron-sth.... n ppl hu worshiped it r called Deutronians or sth like that.

Icemoon SG

Very Happy

alexkusu SG

ru a theologists or sth?

Icemoon SG

Nope. Just happened to have some interest that’s all. Not even an amateur I guess .. haha

chronicles SG

What you quoted from history is irrelevant to what i am discussing now!You have any idea how those protestant preachers push their religon?Like a salesman

Icemoon SG

I am just illustrating the fact that your forefathers were judgmental to begin with. Twisted Evil Hence I don't see why you are so worked up over those pesky protestant preachers.

You have no idea how your forefathers pushed *your* faith down into the throats of thousands or millions.

What those preachers can do to you is *mild*.

The problem with this issue is that there will always be overzealous people doing MORE than they should. Some of these have a strange and even misguided notion of what it means to "spread the Gospel".
Some of these people come knocking at my door and upon knowing that I am a Christian would still want to ask me to attend THEIR church. No different from "Taoist" folks who knock on doors during the seventh month to solicit donations, even from Christians.....

While it is true that the Catholic Church has in the the past and perhaps even now in some places been doing what you have stated, the Protestant Chruch have their fair share of the same, so please don't make it look like now only the Protestant Churchs are being active.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with that statement, but lets not exgerate history and make it look like one side is always doing something while the other is passive.

subsuxor SG

how much preaching compared to catholics, i have been approached but them many times too and some were quite rude and besides they are just tarnishing the reputation of the city harvest church as thats where they come from.Btw i am a athehist

Ito_^ SG

everyone's backstabbing each other.

+1

Icemoon SG

Exactly. If RC's holy human institution is already like that .. then we can't blame protestants from doing the same.

Of course I'm not saying this is right. But it helps to research what happened in your own faith before one criticises others of being over zealous and judgmental.

Icemoon SG

Don't they know what is irresistable grace and unconditional election? Mr. Green
