Not a Christian event, but just helping to promote it.
Yellow
Ribbon Project
The Yellow Ribbon Project seeks to help ex-offenders who take
responsibility for their own actions and are trying their best to
persevere and earn back the trust from their family, friends,
colleagues and the community. The Yellow Ribbon Project engages the
community to offer second chances to ex-offenders who sincerely
want to change.
Some Events Happening
Wear-A-Yellow-Ribbon
Activity
The activity seeks to mobilise the community, through the help of
CARE Network, aftercare agencies, the Home Team, VWOs and community
partners, employers, religious organisations, schools and
grassroots organisations, to wear the yellow ribbon during the week
from 2 9 Oct. Wearing the Yellow Ribbon
symbolically displays the communitys support and acceptance
towards ex-offenders and their families. Yellow Ribbons would
continue to be worn throughout the year at rehab-related
events.
Yellow ribbons packs at $1 each will be distributed and proceeds
will go towards the Yellow Ribbon Fund, to be set up to fund
aftercare programmes as well as prisoners' family and children
support programmes.
'Coming Home' - A

together the stories of three people who have done their time in
prison, and are now soon to be released. But coming home may not be
as easy as it sounds
.
Iggie Chan, 28, an ex-successful copywriter, stabs Muz, his friend,
neighbour and business partner in a fit of drunken rage.

with Muz. But even time cannot erase the pain and bitterness. With
his impending release, how will Iggie face the friend that he had
crippled?
James Wong, 38, is an ex-multimillionaire entrepreneur and a family
man but lands in prison because of a moment of greed. While inside,
his family falls apart and at the same time, a close friend, Alex
moves in - not only on his business but his wife and his
daughter. Can he come out in time to rescue them all?
Julie Low, 20, is a young, rebellious substance abuser. Her time in
prison has only made her even more resentful of her mother who
turned her in to the police. Believing that she can make it on her
own, Julie revisits her old friends, gets a good job only to
realize that the hard time in prison never did unlock her from her
personal demons.
