Isn't it interesting that when protestants mentioned
about so and so pastors receive some revelations from God, nobody
say anything and just believe. But Catholics mentioned something
like on a world wide scale, they started to bad
mouth.
OMG (sorry for the pun), this is a sweeping generalization. Take
this forum for example, how many, like you said, "just believe"?
The regular forummers - sillyme, neon, fandango, ventin, chin eng,
even worried99, how many of them subscribe to that? I'm sorry, but
the new age churches don't make up the whole Protestant body.
Ok, the next thing you say, this forum is flooded with Christian
fundamentalists.
Remember my brother, Satan always go for division and not
harmony.
I see a big big irony here. Let me remind everyone that the FIRST
schism in the history of Christianity happened in ... you guess it
... the Catholic Church.
Talk about Satan causing division.
Somebody said that RC bible is different from King James
bible. Sorry which one came first. Where did the King James bible
comes from ? It is definitely not from original book ( there was
none ) . It is all from the Catholic Bible.
Shows your ignorance of the history of bible compilation. The KJV
was not compiled from the Catholic Bible, which I assume is the
Latin Vulgate. The Latin Vulgate relied on different manuscripts
(the correct word to use, not 'bible' or 'scripture') from the
KJV.
In all honesty, the KJV is not without criticism. Many modern
versions actually relied on the Catholic translation for some
verses, since the Authorized Version, or rather the Textus
Receptus, sucks for those verses.
If fandango is to read this reply, may I know his opinion of the
Codex Sinaiticus and Vaticanus? These are the manuscripts upon
which the Latin Vulgate was based. Good news for the Catholics:
these are the earliest surviving manuscripts of the New
Testament.
Can anyone of your man build church claim to trace back to
the apostles or may be Rome ( St Peter and Paul died there )
?
There is no historical, even Scriptural, basis for Peter and Paul
dying in Rome. The Catholic claim of Peter starting the church in
Rome is a weak one. In Acts and probably elsewhere, Peter is
described as based in Jerusalem. And the funny thing is, the head
of the Jerusalem Church is James and not Peter?
Rome was where the mad emperor reigned and no doubt where
anti-christian sentiments were at its strongest.
Look at all your contradiction in all your spilted
protestant churches. Are you sure you are same in teaching ? why so
many sects ?
Even CHC and NCC agrees on salvation by faith through grace and on
the surface, Sola Scriptura.
They have no base, no Vatican, No Pope, so follow the
lawyer style, cling to a book and interpret the way they
want.
One counter-example. The Anglican Church has the Queen as head of
Church and the Archbishop as the spiritual leader.
