Sorry la, must sound "cheam" once in a while, or someone will say I
everything also dunno.
No, the name is more historical than theological. Depending on how
you look at it, it may be a derogatory name for the Pope.
Simply put, the Pontifex Maximus was the head of the Roman religion
during the Roman Republic.[/b]
Ah...the Pope...the most sensitive topic
well, from what I understand, the Pope extends an influence but not
control over the churches. So difference catholic churches does
teach different doctrines.
And apparently, the "infallible" part is not as extreme as some
christians make it sound like. No catholic really believe the Pope
is perfect. But Infallibility has got to do with Canon Law passing
and Legistration. So more of an administrative tool
apparently.
I think all this unnecessary friction is when both sides are too
quick to attack each other without finding out properly what each
is about. I know some catholics who think that christians are not
saved as well.
Now my opinion is, the world needs the church bad enough. So are we
gonna win over each other or win over the world?
