I also got bad experience with perms. Everytime the stylist
promise big waves, I end up with big hair. Coarse hair always pong
after perm. But I got a new stylist now and dunno if I should make
a leap of faith with him 
Overall I'm pretty conservative with hairstyle. I would try to do
more color.
