I started this forum without a theme verse and I left it very
much without. Recently, while attending service, my pastor spoke of
this verse
"As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants You, O
God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come
and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night,
While {they} say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
These things I remember and I pour out my
soul within me. For I used to go along with the throng {and}
lead them in procession to the house of God, With the voice of joy
and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. Why are you in
despair, O my soul? And {why} have you become disturbed within me?
Hope in God, for I shall again praise
Him {For} the help of His presence." -- Psalm 42:1-5
This verse speaks to me a lot as it is the very same song that
first touched me when I was a young Christian. Let me share with
your the song.
As the deer panteth for the
water
So my soul longeth after Thee
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
(Chorus)
You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship Thee
You're my friend and You are my brother
Even though You are a king
I love You more than any other
So much more than anything
Chorus
I want You more than gold or silver
Only You can satisfy
You alone are the real joy giver
And the apple of my eye
Chorus
I hope that no matter whatever situations you are in and however
down you are, continue to put your hope in God. Just as the
psalmist remembers God's faithfulness in His life and praises God,
we too should rejoice in God for the wonderful things He has done
for us.
