2 nights ago i took a cab from Jurong West Street 51 to 69 South
Bridge Road..Earlier i checked out with my dad which was the
fastest way to South Bridge Road. He said go by AYE, then CTE, exit
from Tiong Bahru Road.
I got into the cab and told the cabbie my destination. he didnt ask
which way i wanna go, so i assumed that he knew the way, so i didnt
specify which way i wanna take.
U know what he did???! he actually passed by the AYE entrance 2
times and didnt go in, instead he brought me to tour West Coast
Highway...which was quiet and scary. I called my dad in the cab (on
purpose) and asked him if this is a viable way. My dad jus said 'if
your cab fare is unreasonably high, you can either pay the full
amount, get the receipt, and complain to the cab company..OR u
demand the driver to reduce the fare'...
i was already boiling..he finally brought me to AYE....then exit to
somewhere at alexandra road?! i was already muttering curses
already...then he went into the expressway again and came out to
the middle of South Bridge Road. near to URA. when he reached the
end of South Bridge Road, he said ' This is the end of South Bridge
Road.' i replied 'What do u mean? Where is 69 south bridge road as
i have said earlier?' he said 'U gimme the number, very hard to
find.' (NBCCB...)
i said 'IF YOU DUNNO THE WAY, TELL ME EARLIER. I CAN ASK MY FREN TO
TELL ME THE LANDMARK THERE'. he diam diam...
the fare ended up to be $17 (no midnite charge), and i took a
frigging 45 min to get to my destination...but the cabbie was smart
enough to take only $10 from me for the whole trip..
so next time, if this happens to u guys, get the receipt and
complain to the cab company (they will get at least 1 wekk
suspension). or else, make a hoo har in the cab
lor...keke..
