Dear all need ur advice on my situation?
I signed the 5yr contract in OCS march13, and i was not accepted
as regular because of security clearance, thus i just waited and
finally was told i am cleared in Dec13, however i had to make a
decesiona and decided not to sign as i wanted to study and did not
like unit life.
I told the recruiting officer in december i would not want to be
a regular and he said no problems and that i can be terminated.
After knowing i am not interested to sign on , i received a
reguar pay on 10dec13 which is only 10 days but he assured me i can
be terminated. upon receiving the money i called and clarified and
was told not to use the money and that i will have to return it, so
i agreed. But on 7jan14 i got called by my s1 saying that i have
signed a contract and u cant break it as it states minimum of 3yrs.
I was shocked , quickly called arc to chk and they still told me no
worries and he talked to my s1, and said AMOC will call me up fo
interview to tell me how to proceede and settle the money,but my
ord date might extend alittle. Currently i am confused, as i am
clear i want to leave the force and what are my options?
1) must i serve the mnimum 3yrs? , or can i return the total
amount given from nov13 to dec13 ($13k) and become a NSF?
2) how is it possible the
recruting officer assured me i can be terminated when my s1 now
says i have to serve 3 damn yrs?
3) i was given no copies of my conttract and from many people
advice , ARC did not do a good job in recruting offcers.
