Before my 1.5 km run, or doing the 10 km route march, I find that
eating 2 pcs of Chapati and followed by 2 pcs of prata with mutton
"keema" helps tremendously with energy reserves.
This diet has to go on for 2 or 3 dinners - about 2 or 3 days
before the real event.
For lunch, I prefer to eat the rice from either the Nasi Padang
cooked by the Malay Caterer, or the white fluffy big seeded rice
cooked by the Indian Cooked Food Stalls.
With the combination of these two meals taken about 2 to 3 days
before the physically taxing event, you will store enough energy
reserves to help cope with the physically demanding training.
BTW the best chapati, roti prata and mutton keema can be found at
the Chinese runned kopi tiam at the corner of Norris Street and
Serangoon Road.
Actually, both the corner shops are Indian operated
restaurant.
Looking down Norris Road (while standing at the corner of Serangoon
Road and Norris Road, this preferred restaurant is on the left
side; and with the Chinese Shop Owners selling the hot and cold
drinks.
The other shop located on the opposite corner, is selling tandoori
chicken and "naan" bread.
