How should I inform Salary Services Centre of the change of my
bank account if I am an active serviceman?
You can visit the MINDEF internet website at www.ns.sg to update
your new bank account via eSelf-Update. The change has to be
updated by 25th of the month in order to have your pay/allowances
credited into the new bank account on the next payday, 10th of the
following month.
As pay details are confidential and personal to the serviceman
concerned, Salary Services Centre (SSC) does not reveal the pay
details of servicemen to their relatives/friends. Please advise
serviceman X to contact SSC directly at 6373 1429/1430/1432.
Newly enlisted personnel will receive their first payment either on
the weekly Friday payday or 10th of the following month, depending
on when the recruiting agency notifies Salary Services Centre.
However, the recruiting agency must inform SSC on time by the
stipulated deadline so that SSC can create the relevant payroll
data to process payment timely.
Salary/NSF allowance being paid on the 10th payday is meant for the
payroll period from the 1st to the last day of the current month.
Thus, if you are going ORD on say, 20 March, you will receive only
a pro-rated amount for 1 March to 20 March.
