SAFMPC performs policing duties to uphold standards of discipline amongst members of the SAF. Its responsibilities include security of key military establishments, the guarding of the Ministry of Defence, ceremonial sentries at the Istana, forming the ceremonial guards for visits by VVIPs to the country and other national events, the maintenance of discipline through enforcement and the operation of the SAF Detention Barracks, and search and rescue operations, amongst others.

i have a few friends that in MP...

1) rough type of guy, not good in body shape or height, posted to Detention barrack as warden...day in day out in prison..

2) have height, slim looking.. posted to Istana guards, 1yr NS stand attention at istana

3) the best is this, tall guy, bo tai bo ji, after MP course posted to SIB (military CID) wear civilian everyday, stay out, but 24hr on call..
