PES Review: Now B2L2. With Sleepwalking, + Excuse Stay-In?

Hi all would like to check with you guys, enlisting on 9 may 2012 I am currently PES B2L2 due to mild hearing problem. Recently my psychiatrist issued me a report stating that I have sleep walking problem and due to some incident that happen before, I can't sleep elsewhere other than my own house especially if there are people around I would get stress and I can't sleep. The MO told me that he cannot give me a pes status only the psychiatrist can and was given a pes D temp for 1 month. What pes status would I get usually?thanks man!

I heard sleepwalking will be given excuse stay-in for sure. Sleepwalking can't let you sleep in bunk. It means you can go home every evening. You may get pes C or E. Pes C bmt stay-in tekong so I don't think you get C from your sleepwalking. I dunno. It's up to the your mo and psychiatrist.

Hi orande thanks for the prompt response. Appreciate it! My friend whose a officer said his recruit used to book in and out from tekong because of some eye problem. Would I end up like that? And generally are the psychiatrist in saf nice? Anyway are u currently serving or ?

How come the MO say he cannot decide to excuse me stay in or down pes only the psychiatrist can ? Is it true ?

Yes, it's true. Only saf psychiatrist can decide to give you excuse stay-in since it's a mental condition. MO handle & can give pes for physical conditions only. In my experiences, saf psychiatrists are generally nice. I have appts with them before due to my severe condition (prefer not disclose). I'm currently not serving.

I'm not sure whether you have a chance of stay-out tekong. It can be one of the possibility too. I thought usually if posted to tekong is all stay-in. I heard camp-mates always said if get posted to tekong is confirm stay-in.

Insomnia? Insomnia can be caused by many different reasons. You should tell your psychiatrist about your insomnia problems. Since you have sleepwalking problems, your insomnia might be caused by your anxiety of sleepwalking if you sleep in different environments. The insecure feeling is what made you have sleep difficulty if you sleep elsewhere.

It depends on the severity of your somnambulism. It also depends on the type of somnipathy that you have.

Dangerboi: I did not seek any sombapathy as they would ask me to stay in the sleep clinic. I have problems sleeping elsewhere as I don feel secure that's y I didn't not stay in the sleep clinic. My psychiatrist actually said I have marked symptoms of somnambulism and describe what I did and further adding on that my parents are aware of it and my dad actually monitor the time I sleepwalk and woke me up just half an hour before that. Anyway, what I did when I sleepwalk is that I actually cut fruits .

Orande: so do i have to return to my psychatrist and ask for another memo/edit the report( cause he did not state what will happen if i have to sleep in another environment) or i can just tell SAF psychatrist this when i receive the appointment letter?

Only a psychiatrist can rate the severity of your somnambulism.

You can just mention it to your saf psychiatrist about your additional problems. They usually do another check-up for everyone and ask you the same questions for your problems. You should also bring up your cut fruits sleepwalking. I could imagine what if you ended up cutting people in bunks or clinics while sleeping. They'll find an appropriate environment for you to stay-out.

Orande: My letter got state i cut fruits while sleeping =.=. but my psychatrist said BLISSFULLY cutting fruits, and also mention that i got IMMENSE fear from staying in other environment. so i guess i do not have any violent issues. What do u mean do another check up? schedule another round of assessment after the first one?. So with a report from a psychatrist instead of a somnapathy should suffice?

If your psychiatrist mentioned that you've immense fear from staying in other environment, you'll be excuse stay-in. The word "immense" already can tell that it's severe enough to give you excuse stay-in.

Another check-up means he'll ask you questions during your up-coming appointment with the saf psychiatrist. Your condition diagnosed from medical report will remain the same. They only want in detail in order to understand you further. It's good for people since memos/reports only give brief understanding of your condition. This is where you can bring up more detailed problems like your immense fear of staying in other environments. From there, they can work out and know what to excuse you from.
