Hi guys.
I have already went through my 4 weeks in Tekong for my BMT and
just completed my first week of BMT(Vocational) as an Admin Support
Assistant(ASA) in STC. I have 4 weeks more to go and would like to
know what life would be like in these 4 weeks. I've been having a
lot of trouble adjusting to STC and am constantly worried about
what I am going to be doing while I'm still in STC and what is
going to happen after that.
I am PES C9L9 due to a psychological problem which affects my motor
skills and thus am excused from firearms and grenades. I am also
suffering from frequent anxiety and depressive spells which I have
yet to seek medical attention for. These spells have been very
difficult for me to handle. I constantly feel on the edge, even on
the weekends when I have nothing to worry about.
I would like to ask the following to those of you who can help
me:
1. What should I expect for the days/weeks ahead in STC?
2. My commanders are extremely strict right now. Will they get
better as the unit starts to integrate or are they just going to
keep on raising the standards all the way?
3. As an admin support assistant in a unit, I understand that I
am going to be doing clerical work. However, does this also mean
that I have to deal with more regimentation and discipline?
4. As for my anxiety and depressive spells, I think that I
should wait till im posted out to a unit before seeking any medical
attention, so that I can POC smoothly without the need to
constantly disrupt my ASA Lessons. Do you guys think this is
reasonable or should I seek attention ASAP? Are these even issues
that is worth seeing a psychiatrist for? Believe me when I say that
the last thing that I want to do is to "Chao Keng". I don't believe
in doing that and will only seek attention if it is really
affecting me.
Thanks for the help guys!
