Setan1500 SG

Hi Everyone.

I am here with a few questions.

I know that in Ns you cant choose Units but i heard that theres an interview where i can ask to be transferred somewhere.

The unit i am planning to go to is the Police Dog Unit.I dont know the exact name LOL.

I am currently studying Veterinary Bioscience Course in NP.

I can speak malay but am not muslim.

I speak good english.

I plan to get a degree in veterinary medicine,i believe this would be a factor for reservice?

I am Pes A probably gonna chiong for a good Gold.

What do you think an any advice on what i should do ?Any special magic i can do to increase my chances i get into police dog unit?

there is pretty much little you can do except to express interest during the CMPB medical checkup day to the civilian customer service officer over there and during the officer interview during BMT in there...

the special effect magic you can bluff is when on the day you enlist/ go for CMPB checkup, bring along your pet dog to camp and tell the officer-in-charge you are Singapore version of Doctor Dolittle, who have got special 7th sense to talk to dogs and can decipher/ interpret dog barks into communication words understandable only between you and the dogs.

if you mean the SPF police K9 unit.. then dont think u will go in.. they are all regulars there..
dogs and their trainers work together till the dog retires.. dogs also dont like a change of masters/ trainers every 18 months

if u mean SAF's dog unit.. then u may stand a chance. first of all.. you need to get into MP unit or an RP in 2PDF.. but of course.. theres also other aspiring candidates..

my say is.. dont expect to land into the K9 unit.. if u got it, thats a bonus.. if not.. then so be it

dunno how true this is ....

but heard from a chap who was formerly in the SAF dog unit, that most times, the military working dogs are simply put to sleep after retirement ... because the SAF don't want the expenses of feeding and keeping the dogs after their use-by dates, but can't let these dogs be adopted out because they are often of the "aggressive" breeds .....

so, if you like animals a lot ... he said it's best NOT to go into this unit ...

I think you should stick to volunteering with dogmillrehomers or something ....

That's the noisiest unit in my NS life.

I was a clerk in karnji camp 2. Every time walk by the dogs bark.

If I got biological or chemical weapons I go kill all the dogs.

Very noisy.

Ok heres the trick. First express interest to your PC or OC if have. You have to pass a interview to go to MP. Which means if your security clearance sucks, you cant go period. Impress the interviewer during that MP interview to secure your chances
