With NS Allowance, Do I Rent a Room OR Stay-In on Weekends?

I have an enquire about staying out after every book out during weekends.

My fren who is a PR, currently staying in taiwan, does not have any place to stay in Singapore. Is there any arrangement from the mindef for him? (something like arrange a place for him) As renting a room just for weekends is not worth it. What is the best solution for him?

If he is a PR of Singapore and staying in Taiwan, should he give up his PR in Singapore. He should take up PR in Taiwan instead and serve NS in Taiwan.

He dont even have a place to stay in Singapore. There is no home here. He is protecting nothing but a foreign country.

The best solution is for him to give up his PR in Singapore. Come on and face the fact, he not going to come back to Singapore to protect Singapore when in need. He dont have a place to stay when he book out every weekend. If he stay out, is he going to rent a place outside. This is not going to work out.
