There must be a reason why u wanted to join SAF instead of your home country forces? Just because of the PR or citizenship I don' t think so. It'd would made our citizenship looks too cheap. Btw if u want PR/ citizenship so badly employment in Singapore would be much easier. As for foreigner like you, even SAF think if u can serve, they'll have to check your background etc. Certain vocation might not be available to you.

You know what? This is your first leap of faith to joining our armed forces. And if you overcome this, I tell you man, there will be a hell lot more coming your way. Trust me when I say its the most efficient organisation in our country, and I mean it because I don't use the "".

charlize SG

If you think that the only way you can obtain PR is by serving NS, then you must not be very smart.

I fear for your future.

Billykinggg SG

well every singaporean boy go through NS, why should it be hell for me ? there cant be discrimination

yet still i dont understand about this "efficiency" if you mind to explain

and yes, my home country military was as corrupted, racist and shit for me as a chinese and a minor, we cant join the military

Billykinggg SG

ya okay so how do you cope this "smartness" with servitude and a little bit logical trade of to ethics ?

ditzy SG

Every singaporean boy go through national service because they are citizens of the state and are under the constitution to protect it. And national service is not just 2 years and fuck off thing, its 2 years of active service, and 10 annual cycles, or till you hit 40 years old whichever comes first to get one operationally ready.

So are you after PR, or Singapore citizenship? Better make up your mind.

Billykinggg SG

I'll just go with the PR but if no citizenship, I wont mind lah

and I just received this

We regret to inform you that only Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents are eligible for National Service.

here I have a friend for your cat

Im so confused now

ditzy SG

So you're just after PR, why do you want to serve NS? Even if you want to, they won't let you, simple as that.

Billykinggg SG

so I'll tell them that I'll just serve and be loyal ?

its kinda unacceptable if I had no reason, even if no PR still fine for me

DriftingGuy SG

Mind sharing what your home country is? You seem pretty familiar with our local lingo

ditzy SG

If things were so simple, I could have just told them I don't wanna serve and I won't be loyal. Geez, grow up already.

i dont get it, but still i want to serve sigh

@driftingGuy : you could've guest what country so corrupted, added with some racial discrimination on their forces

So have u call mindef up?

SBS2601D SG

Look, loyalty has more forms than NS.

We do NS bcos we have to....its our 'rite' and 'right'.

And its not just 2 years. Its tens of years of commitment.

If you are after PR, then we don't need you to do NS anyway.

Phorum Noob SG

I'm migrating just to avoid the stupid sexist annual reservice males have to serve, and you are trying to get PR by serving NS? I think you're nuts.

Im sure that after serving, and meeting so many aholes inside, you wouldn't want to migrate anymore. ;)
