go army, your phone should be there for you to call your family/gf or sms them, pls forget about all those game apps etc that a smartphone will allow you to, it drains your battery too much..

i even needed 2 batteries for my old old nokia black and white kinda phone during bmt, cause talking eats up the batt damn fast.

A new directive came out recently banning phones with cameras removed from SAF camps. The only reason why they allowed phones with cameras removed before was because when they announced the camera phone ban a few years back, there were some servicemen who had existing contracts with camera phones, so they were allowed to retain their phones but had to have their camera removed. Now that more then 2 years are over, their 2 year plan is over and so they have to go and look for a new phone without a camera.

I didnt actually read thru the replies u got,

But sadly, NO.

Even camera phones with camera removed officially or not, It is now allowed into any of the camps.

As an advice for BMT, just get second-hand phone from some ORD personnel, E51 is good enough for your 2 years/1year 10 months. You can tether for your itouch.

But sadly, you wont have the time/energy to surf net during your stay in BMT.

Try to enjoy without any technology, daily can call back home good enough.

Another advice, try to smuggle phone during your major outfield. Dam important coz u will miss home and your zharbo
