Hello all. Recently a unit mate of mine broke his leg as he was hit by a car coming into camp. A few days later i saw him limping into camp with a cast and crutches. I asked him, why aren’t you resting in hospital or at home? He said he originally got a 1month mc from the hospital but the mo didn’t want to give. So now he limps around and he doesn’t go cookhouse, they bring back packet food for him. Why is the mo so f ed up?

actually i don't know which camp you are in. But I do know that MC more than 30 days he should be medically boarded.....

YOur camp MO is wierd. Complain and raise the issue to your camp MOIC. If MOIC dont agree, raise the matter to your OC. If all else fails, call SAF hotline.

Dont worry, calling the SAF hotline wont get you into trouble as long as you let your OC know beforehand as an act of courtesy.

If you still want to pursue the matter after you ORD, take down the MO's MCR number and lodge a complain with the Singapore Medical Council.

I seem to understand that endorsing a long-term MC, although by right required, is commonly understood by most people today as a mere formality and something that all camp MOs should do.
However, as much as it is true that there are good enciks and officers there are also f-ed up people like that, so in this case, the decision to endorse was not a mere formality but an actual decision by the MO. Though I really cannot fathom why a doctor would not let a very immobile person rest at home, I really cannot.

This is weird.

You need to show the MC to the medic at the medical centre, get it endorsed by chopping a stamp. The MO dont need to rewrite a new MC for him unless it is extension or medical board.

Actually the freshies doc are more "afraid of death" so they dont really dare to play to play.

The MC for NSF can only be given max up to 2 weeks for attend C. And it is necessary to extend the MC every 2 weeks.

of course. MO is the doctor of the camp. like bear said if something happens he has to bear full responsibility for the decision.

ya my camp also wad. Give u one example of mine. I got acne problem cannot put on camo cream. Once i put on i think can use mutate to describe. Made an appointment with the Mo to endoss the excuse letter. On the day itself he went on mc. I continue to apply medication from doctor. Week 2 , week 3 . . . continues. Either not around or busy. Finally kena asked to endoss the letter.

So many weeks pass already no out field no camo on my acne went down.The MO look at my face and give tat kind of tsk and reject the excuse letter. Tell me to continue putting on.

Reason being " i have seen people with worse acne problem than u put on camo cream." Saf train MO like this, power pack. Tell me genes or wat other reason i maybe wun so wtf. Tell me coz ppl like tat so i can like tat. Seriously i went out not feeling angry but "haha do i need u to tell me this. U went for medical training and u conclude my condition with that ?"

U might as well when i injured on the field cannot move during war. I ask for help u come den tell me i have seen the enemy troopers die for their country so can u. Heng my pc got heart pity me excuse me.

Sometimes hear stories from my company frens i also feel like laughing. Injured, report sick mo say no problem. Go out see doctor proven to have a problem. Ended up in HQ. Ha..Ha..Ha..
