NS is really taking up a lot of young Singaporean males’ time
and should be effectively reduced to 1 year as soon as possible. If
they can so immediately consider reducing the Chinese Language
weightage for PSLE, they can also do so for
NS. The reduction of NS debate has been getting on for so long
already, could be more than a decade…
Taiwan has already reduced their NS to only 4 months of service.
Why can Singapore just make it 1 year NS? Wouldn’t it be better for
everyone?
Just see for yourself; the girls are getting into University or
workforce faster and getting a great head start in life… what
happens to the males? Wasting 2 long years… time equates youth
which equates $$$.
Anyway, let’s be sensible, there is really no need for 2 years
of service, 1 year is more than enough!
Singaporeans, let’s rally together and push for changes!
