Hi.
I used to be from 21SA Signal Platoon.
21SA consist of HQ battery, "A" battery, "B" battery and "C"
battery. Vocations wise, you might be posted over to the battery
(A,B,C) for good (means permanently at battery), or attach to
battery for outfield exercises. If you are lucky enough to stay in
HQ, you can expect: S3 signaler, CO signaler, QM signaler, Medic
Signaler, S1 Signaler, RSM Signaler and etc etc (don't remember
all).
If you are in A, B or C, you will either be Battery Commander
Signaler (BC Signaler) or Recce Signaler.
One thing about battery is that it is quite regimental, unlike
HQ. You will not have as much freedom in battery. You need to
follow a strict lights-off timing (2230 hours), strict wake up
timing @ 0530 hours.
For HQ, you can wake up anytime, skip breakfast if u want. As
long as you make it for the HQ Morning Row Call @ 7.30 or 8 am (I
forgot).
Pray hard that you get into HQ or else life will be hard. Hope
this helps !
