Hi there. Im a scout commander. In case u're wondering,
scouts and recce are bascially almost the same. I believe in sispec
there are interviews for various vocations such as CBRE, Sniper etc
etc. IMHO, if u think u're game to be a scout commander, then just
go for the interview! Of course that depends on ur BSLC course
and time of the year, ie to say whether a unit is recruiting their
recce commanders or not. Hence luck plays a part too. It helps too
if u have a map in ur brain. Haha, just kidding. That said,
passion is most important. Recce is a very interesting
vocation but also a tough one, heard from SMI instructors that the
Recce course we're going thru has almost the same intensity as the
Commandos. Hope u'll get into recce and join the recce
family!
First in, Last out! Recce! =)
