hi im 16.5 years old just took my o levels and have decided do to Ns first its my final decision. ive read in the application form that,you should expect to wait 6 months before you get to enlist? that pretty long but ok i could get a job till then or whatever,but is there any chance maybe you could enlist earlier? i mean does it necessarliy mean SIX MONTHS on the dot? could it be earlier? just wondering so i asked. thanks...

yes but i have to wait 6 months for the reply. is it possible ill get it before the 6 months? or confirm 6 months on the dot.. just asking ah if can earlier than i good mood :P

i did VEES, i entered in about 3 months from application, i think they will just put you in the earliest avaliable slot, i went in 17.5 yrs old. i cant rememebr (its been 4-5 years already) but i think i requested to be inducted in as soon as possible. maybe u can request too.

dont think it affects your rank, i went to bmt cmd batch , but i opted to be a man. managed to get corporal rank, i had a friend in bmt 1 year younger than me, so should be your age. went sispec.

but i think it depends on your education etc and whether you are posted to a mono intake (not sure if mono intake got sispec opportunities though, maybe have, i not sure)

but i know a a sergant with o levels qualifications, so still possible i guess.

Hmm alright so how can i appeal to get in faster? im basically 16.5 years old now,just finished my o levels got my results already. I wanna go overseas study but i wanna clear this first. its like my final decision actually. thanks alot for ur help.

Have you considered the option of going overseas to study and stay overseas giving up the SG citizenship?

most of friends who went OS, decided to stay OS after grad. I meant after staying in another place for 5 years, you might no want to leave.

if you are talking about migration is a whole new different topic.

But I think if you go in NS at a young age. You will get bully by your ignorance. I meant even I feel that I myself is bullied by my ignorance at my time, so it is better to go in when you are more mature and experience.

If you are thinking of migration just go overseas NOW, and see if you want to give up you citizenship in the future.

If you are thinking of going NS early, I suggest you should go later, may be after poly.

I suggest you go NS later, because you are cute, immature, innocent, ignorant at your age NOW, getting bully and being unfair is common, especially you dont know how to defend yourself.

Buffer yourself one or two years make you older and more experienced, will be better.

Ps: being mature does not equal you study alot but rarer "Street Smart".
